Meal Plans 101
Having a meal plan means more than just convenience - it's your key to enjoying craveable meals across campus. With chef-inspired menus, local ingredients, and sustainable practices, your dining experience is as dynamic as campus life.
Your Meal Plan Access
Meal Swipes
Meal Swipes give you access to all-you-care-to-eat dining halls, offering variety of delicious and fresh options for every meal.
Meal Exchange
Meal Exchange lets you trade a Meal Swipe for select menu items at participating campus retail locations, giving you more flexibility on the go.
Paw Points
Paw Points are prepaid funds that can be used at any campus dining location to conveniently purchase food, snacks, and beverages.
What is a Meal Plan?
A Meal Plan unlocks delicious meals, coffee, snacks, and more, at twenty-seven locations across campus. Your Meal Plan includes Meal Swipes and Paw Points, conveniently loaded onto your student ID. No need to carry additional cards or cash! Meal Swipes give you access to any of our all-you-care-to-eat dining halls, including The Dish at McAlister, Schilletter Dining Hall, and Douthit Hills Community Hub. Unlimited meal plans require a 30-minute wait time between swipes.
What is Meal Exchange?
Meal Swipes can be used for Meal Exchange to get a full meal solution at select retail locations on campus during specific time frames.
Current Meal Exchange locations and access times includes:
- Freshens Fresh Food Studio: 7:00am - 11:00am, Monday-Friday
- Village Market: 7:00am - 11:00am, Monday-Friday
Unlimited meal plan holders may use one Meal Swipe during the Meal Exchange period. Block meal plan holders may use multiple Meal Swipes during the Meal Exchange period.
Paw Points
Paw Points may be used at any on-campus Clemson Home Dining location and at Tri-County Technical College in the Campus Café. Visit our locations page for location information, including dining hall menus and hours of operation.
- Paw Points can be used for meals, snacks, beverages, etc. at any on-campus dining location.
- Paw Points are included with each student meal plan. Funds can be reloaded throughout the year through the Clemson Home Portal.
- Paw Points roll over each semester. The funds are no longer available for use after a student or faculty/staff member has either graduated or is no longer an active student or staff member at Clemson University.
Guest Meals
Guest Meals come with our Unlimited 100, 200, and 300 meal plans, allowing guests of meal plan holders entrance to the dining hall. Guest meals can be used at Schilletter, The Dish at McAlister, or Douthit Hills Community Hub.

Casual atmosphere with Wi-Fi, TVs, music and lounge-style seating—perfect for studying or hanging out with friends

Dedicated Allergen Solutions stations, located at True Balance at Schilletter Dining Hall and Naked Food at The Dish at McAlister, feature menus made without the Top 9 Allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, wheat and gluten, dairy, soy, eggs, shellfish, fin fish, and sesame).

To-go meals: To take your meals to go from The Dish at McAlister, Schilletter Dining Hall or Douthit Hills Community Hub, you must sign up for our to-go program, ReusePass. Sign up using your Clemson.edu email at app.reusepass.com/Clemson. To check out a box, let the cashier know then scan your unique QR code.
Managing Your Plan
There are three ways you can check your Meal Swipes and Paw Points balance:
- On the Clemson Home Portal
- On the TigerOne Online Store
- On your receipt after a purchase at any dining location.
- Visit the meal plan office in Mell Hall, Tuesday through Thursday, 8:00am-4:30pm or call 864-656-2295.
